STATE REP. PULLIN CRITICAL OF THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE

STATE  REPRESENTATIVE  KEN  PULLIN  WHO  REPRESENTS  UPSON, PIKE, AND LAMAR COUNTIES HAS  ANNOUNCED  HE  WILL NOT  SEEK A  SECOND  TERM AND  IN  A  FACEBOOK POST MONDAY  CITES WHAT HE  CALLS  THE SWAMPINESS AT THE STATE CAPITAL.

PULLIN  JOINED A GROUP OF LEGISLATORS AT LAST YEAR'S  SESSION SUPPORTING  A  RESOLUTION FOR  SPEAKER OF  THE  HOUSE  DAVID  RALSTON  TO  RESIGN BASED ON  ALLEGATIONS HE USED HIS  POSITION  TO  DELAY  COURT  CASES  INVOLVING  HIS  CLIENTS--SOMETHING   THAT  LEAD  TO LEGISLATION  PROHIBITING  SUCH DELAYS  BY  LAWYERS
IN  THE  GENERAL  ASSEMBLY. 

IN A  FACEBOOK POST-PULLIN  SAID  HE  INVITED   THE THOMASTON-UPSON  HEART AND  SOUL  TEAM  TO  THE  STATE  CAPITAL  MONDAY  TO  RECOGNIZE THEM ON  THE  HOUSE FLOOR   BUT AT  THE  LAST MINUTE   THE  SPEAKER  REMOVED IT  FROM  THE    CALENDAR-  SO  UPSON'S   STATE SENATOR JOHN KENNEDY STEPPED-IN AND HELD  THE  EVENT  IN THE  SENATE.

IN  THE  POST -- PULLIN  SAYS  HE  FOUND  OUT  OVER THE  WEEKEND  THAT   THE  SPEAKER  AND   PREVIOUS   STATE LEGISLATOR  JOHNNIE  CALDWELL HAVE BEEN  PLANNING ON RUNNING  A CANDIDATE  AGAINST HIM  IN THE MAY  PRIMARY--AND  THE  SPEAKER DIDN'T  WANT  PULLIN TO GET  CREDIT FOR  THE  RESOLUTION OF  RECOGNITION.  PULLIN  CALLS SPEAKER  RALSTON  THE  WORST LEADER  HE  HAS EVER BEEN  AROUND.

THOMASTON BUSINESSMAN  KENNY  COGGINS  HAS  ANNOUNCED HE WILL  QUALIFY  FOR HOUSE  DISTRICT 131 .

PIKE  COUNTY  BOARD OF  EDUCATION MEMBER  BETH  CAMP  QUALIFIED TO  RUN  FOR  THAT    HOUSE  SEAT   MONDAY AT  THE  STATE  CAPITAL.
