CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS--MARGERET BENTLEY ASKED FOR A $9100 PAY RAISE FOR ELECTIONS SUPERVISOR MARSEA SHIPLEY , NOW PAID $42,000--NO DECISION BY THE BOARD AND ALSO REQUESTED A FULL OR PART TIME ASSISTANT TO MS. SHIPLEY AS ABSENTEE BALLOTS ARE POURING IN.
COUNTY MANAGER WILLIAM WILSON JR. SAID THE 800 MEGA-HERTZ COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM--NEEDS AN ASSISTANT--SO HE SUGGESTED HIRING ONE PERSON TO WORK PART TIME IN THAT DEPARTMENT AND THE REST WITH THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS. COMMISSIONERS INSTRUCTED HIM TO WRITE THE JOB DESCRIPTION.
CHAIR GWEN FLOWERS TAYLOR ANNOUNCED PLANS FOR A TRANSPORTATION SPLOST FOR ROAD PAVING NEXT MARCH AND A VOTE ON EXTENDING THE CURRENT SPLOST IN THE FALL 2021.
