THOMASTON MAYOR J.D. STALLINGS DECLARED WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14TH "GAIL HAMMOCK APPRECIATION DAY" AS SHE WAS HONORED FOR HER UPCOMING RETIREMENT AFTER 42 YEARS WITH CITY HALL, DURING THE ANNUAL ARBOR DAY CEREMONY. TWO MAPLES WERE RECENTLY PLANTED TO HONOR GAIL AT THE NORTH ISLAND AND AT THE SOUTH ISLAND AT THE SILVERTOWN TRAFFIC LIGHT.
DURING THE ARBOR DAY CEREMONY ,THE GEORGIA FORESTRY COMMISSION CONGRATULATED THE CITY OF THOMASTON FOR ITS LONG STANDING DESIGNATION AS A TREE CITY USA.
