POST 26 GA. STATE PATROL-THOMASTON HAS RELEASED THE REPORT ON A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH 5 INJURIES, TUESDAY EVENING ON HIGHWAY 19 NORTH AT THE ENTRANCE TO CHICK-FIL-A.
ONE MOTORIST SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES AND WAS LIFE-FLIGHTED BY COMMUNITY AIR TO THE MACON MEDICAL CENTER, 50 YEAR OLD USHABEN PATEL WHO LOST THREE FINGERS ON HER LEFT HAND. TWO PASSENGERS IN HER 2010 TOYOTA VENZA WERE INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO URMC BY VETERANS EMS, 47 YEAR OLD NITA PATEL AND 21 YEAR OLD TRISHA PATEL, ALL THREE OF THE SAME ADDRESS, 1833 19 NORTH, THOMASTON.
ACCORDING TO GSP TROOPER OLIVER, THE MOTORIST AT FAULT, DAKOTA JACOB KLAUSS, AGE 22 OF 797 HAGAN'S MOUNTAIN ROAD, MEANSVILLE, DRIVING A 2007 DODGE CHARGER AND A PASSENGER, 28- YEAR OLD ALLISON BURBEE OF THE SAME ADDRESS, WERE TRANSPORTED TO UPSON REGIONAL BY COMMUNITY EMS.
THE REPORT SAID KLAUSS WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO THE CHICK-FIL-A ENTRANCE FROM U.S. 19 AND THE PATEL VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING NORTH. THE CHARGER FAILED TO YIELD AND CRASHED INTO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TOYOTA, CAUSING IT TO OVERTURN.
KLAUSS WAS ISSUED A CITATION BY TROOPER OLIVER FOR FAILURE TO YIELD WHLE TURNING LEFT.
