JONES COUNTY SHERIFF BUTCH REESE HAS ANNOUNCED THE ARREST OF A LAMAR COUNTY MAN, TRAVIS LEROY BALL, AGE 54 ON CHARGES OF TERRIORISTIC THREATS FOR MAILING LETTERS CLAIMING ANTHRAX WAS ENCLOSED TO THE JONES COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, AND THE JONES COUNTY OFFICE OF THE CLERK OF SUPERIOR COURT, THREATENING TO BLOW UP BUILDINGS AND KILL COUNTY DEPUTIES AND OFFICIALS.
BALL WHO WAS CONVICTED OF ARSON IN UPSON COUNTY SOME YEARS BACK, ALSO DID PRISON TIME FOR MAILING SIMILAR LETTERS IN 2013 TO THE BARNESVILLE-HERALD GAZETTE NEWSPAPER, THE AJC NEWSPAPER, AND THE MORMAN CHURCH.
THE LAMAR COUNTY AND BUTTS COUNTY S.O. AND U.S. MARSHALL'S SERVICE ASSISTED WITH THE ARREST OF BALL AT HIS RESIDENCE IN BARNESVILLE TUESDAY AND DISCOVERED SEVERAL OTHER LETTERS THAT HAD NOT BEEN MAILED.
