THOMASTON POLICE MIKE RICHARDSON REPORTS AN ARMED ROBBERY AT COUNTRY CORNER GROCERY AT WEST MAIN AND HANNAH'S MILL ROAD, TUESDAY NIGHT AROUND 8;30PM.
TWO MALES WEARING ORANGE FACE COVERINGS PUSHED THE FEMALE CLERK BACK INSIDE THE BUILDING AND ONE OF THEM POINTED AN ASSAULT RIFLE AT HER AND EMPTIED THE CASH REGISTER AND STOLE HER POCKETBOOK.
THEY FLED ON FOOT BUT THE CHIEF SUSPECTS THEY HAD A CAR NEAR-BY. SOME CONTENTS OF THE CLERK'S POCKETBOOK WERE FOUND SCATTERED ALONG THE SIDE OF 74 WEST. INVESTIGATORS ARE CHECKING WITH PIKE COUNTY AUTHORITIES AS A SIMILAR ROBBERY HAPPENED IN CONCORD , RECENTLY--CHIEF RICHARDSON TOLD 101 NEWS.
