PIKE COUNTY ATHLETIC DIRECTOR JAMES STANFORD HAS ANNOUNCED THIS FRIDAY'S MAKE-UP GAME WITH TAYLOR COUNTY HAS BEEN CANCELLED--DUE TO COVID-19 AND THE SEPTEMBER 25TH GAME WITH SPALDING HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR OCT. 30TH.
A.D. STANFORD TOLD 101 NEWS--LIGHTNING IN THE AREA CAUSED POSTPONEMENT OF THE TAYLOR COUNTY GAME IN BUTLER, FRIDAY NIGHT--BUT 5 OR 6 KEY PLAYERS ON THE PIRATES TEAM ARE QUARANTINED FOR 14 DAYS AFTER BEING EXPOSED TO THE VIRUS--SO THE TAYLOR COUNTY GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND THE SPALDING GAME MOVED TO NEXT MONTH IN ZEBULON.
THE A.D. SAID THE CHANGES WERE MADE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PLAYERS.
