THE UPSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS THREE FEMALE STUDENTS AT U.L. MIDDLE SCHOOL HAVE BEEN TURNED OVER TO UPSON COUNTY JUVENILE COURT ON FELONY CHARGES OF SELLING AND POSSESSING MARIJUANA GUMMIES, 15 AND 13 YEAR OLD WHITE FEMALES AND AN 11 YEAR OLD BLACK FEMALE. DEPUTIES SAID THEY APPEARED TO BE HIGH.
UPSON S.O. SAID THE SO CALLED "WEED" GUMMIES TURNED-UP IN TWO CLASSROOMS, ALONG WITH SOME SUSPECT BROWNIES. THE GUMMIES TESTED POSITIVE FOR MARIJUANA THC, ACCORDING TO THE DRUG TASK FORCE COMMANDER HEATH EPPINGER.
THE 13 YEAR OLD SAID THE 15 YEAR OLD TRIED TO SELL HER A GUMMIE FOR $15 AND THEN GAVE HER ONE. THE 11 YEAR OLD SAID SEVERAL WERE SOLD TO STUDENTS FOR $20. SOME GUMMIES AND BROWNIES WERE FOUND IN A CLASSROOM TRASH CAN.
THE GRANDMOTHER OF THE 15 YEAR OLD TOLD A DEPUTY SHE SUSPECTS THE GUMMIES CAME FROM A GRIFFIN MALE.
