UPSON COUNTY SHERIFF DAN KILGORE SAYS HIS OFFICE IS INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING MONDAY NIGHT AT 11 PM AT 309 MARLON STREET. A CONVIENCE STORE BUSINESSMAN, ALI KAHN WAS SHOT 6 TIMES WITH A LARGE CALIBER HANDGUN AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO MACON MEDICAL CENTER AND IS EXPECTED TO SURVIVE.
ACCORDING TO SHERIFF KILGORE, KAHN WAS RETURNING HOME AFTER WORKING AT A COLUMBUS CONVIENCE STORE AND IN HIS DRIVEWAY WAS APPROACHED BY A BLACK MALE WEARING A HOODIE AND A MASK. HE DEMANDED MONEY BUT KAHN TOLD HIM HE HAD NONE AND THE OFFENDER SHOT HIM 6 TIMES ABOUT THE BODY AND FLED.
A DEPUTY AT NORTHCREEK SHOPPING CENTER , SEVERAL NEIGHBORS, AND HIS DAUGHTER IN THE HOUSE HEARD THE GUNSHOTS AND RESPONDED TO THE SCENE.
KAHN AT ONE TIME OWNED THE CONVIENCE STORE AT 19 NORTH AND ATWATER ROAD.
SHERIFF KILGORE TOLD 101 NEWS IT IS AN ACTIVE INVESTIGATION.
