UPSON SO JAILER ARRESTED

 UPSON COUNTY SHERIFF DAN KILGORE SAYS A JAILER WAS ARRESTED FRIDAY FOR SMUGGLING DRUGS INTO THE CELL BLOCK TO SELL TO INMATES. 

THE SHERIFF SAID TALA RATTRAY, AGE 23, HIRED IN SEPTEMBER OF THIS YEAR, IS BEING HELD IN THE LAMAR COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT BOND, ON CHARGES INCLUDING VIOLATION OATH OF OFFICE AND POSSESSION OF METH AND MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE.

THE SHERIFF SAID HIS OFFICE WAS SUSPICIOUS OF RATTRAY'S ACTIVITIES WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN REPEATED PREVIOUSLY. THE SHERIFF TOLD 101 NEWS ITS DISCOURAGING TO HAVE A STAFF MEMBER COMPROMISING A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICE, ITS THE WORSE THING THEY CAN DO AND HE WILL INSIST RATTRAY IS PROSECUTED TO THE MAX.
