TUESDAY SHOOTING IN THOMASTON

THOMASTON POLICE CHIEF MIKE RICHARDSON SAYS THE SUSPECT IN A CAR BREAK-IN WHO WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES BY THE SUV OWNER IS EXPECTED TO SURVIVE.

28 YEAR OLD RANDALL WATTS OF TOM MCKINLEY ROAD WAS LIFE FLIGHTED TO A MACON HOSPITAL AFTER BEING TREATED AT THE E.R.

P.D. OFFICERS RESPONDED TO A 3RD STREET ADDRESS AT 3 AM TUESDAY AND FOUND WATTS WOUNDED OUTSIDE THE RESIDENCE. CHIEF RICHARDSON SAID IT APPEARS WATTS WAS ATTEMPTING TO BREAK INTO A CHEVY TAHOE PARKED AT THE HOME WHEN A RESIDENT CONFRONTED WATTS OUTSIDE AND THEY EXCHANGED GUNFIRE.

POLICE RECOVERED A 9 MM PISTOL REPORTEDLY OWNED BY WATTS AND THE CHIEF SAID THE RESIDENT INVOLVED IN THE SHOOTING IS COOPERATING WITH INVESTIGATORS.
