SEVEN POSITIVE TESTS 2ND FLOOR THOMASTON CITY HALL

THOMASTON'S CITY MANAGER RUSSELL THOMPSON SAYS THE 2ND FLOOR EXECUTIVE SUITE OF CITY HALL IS CLOSED TILL FURTHER NOTICE AFTER 7 POSITIVE COVID-19 TESTS.

THE MANAGER TOLD 101 NEWS HE'S POSITIVE, MAYOR J.D. STALLINGS IS POSITIVE, COUNCIL MEMBER JEFF MIDDLEBROOKS IS POSITIVE PLUS 4 OF 5 EMPLOYEES ON THE 2ND FLOOR.

WE WERE TOLD ALL ARE RECOVERING AT HOME, NONE ARE HOSPITALIZED WITH THE VIRUS.

MANAGER THOMPSON SAID SOMEONE IS MANNING THE PHONES ON THE 2ND FLOOR.

THE FINANCE OFFICE ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE GOVERNMENT COMPLEX IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

THE CITY MANAGER EXPLAINED HE WAS SUFFERING FROM A HEADACHE AND WAS TOLD BY HIS PHYSICIAN TO QUARANTINE FOR 10 DAYS FROM TUESDAY, THE DAY HE WAS DIAGNOSED.

TUESDAY'S REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL WAS CANCELLED TUESDAY AFTERNOON BECAUSE OF THE VIRUS-AND CITY MANAGER THOMPSON SAID IT WILL BE RESCHEDULED, PROBABLY A VIRTUAL MEETING. COUNCIL WAS TO DISCUSS HOLDING A CALLED MEETING TO HEAR PUBLIC COMMENT ON THE REMOVAL OF THE R.E. LEE NAME FROM THE BUILDING.
