ACCORDING
TO UPSON COUNTY SHERIFF DAN KILGORE---A 10 YEAR OLD STUDENT
AT UPSON LEE NORTH WAS LIFE FLIGHTED TO AN ATLANTA
HOSPITAL AND UNDERWENT SURGERY AFTER BEING ATTACKED BY A
PIT BULL INSIDE THE HOUSE ON VICKERY ROAD—SUNDAY NIGHT.
THE
CHILD'S MOTHER AMANDA MELTON SAID HER HUSBAND WAS KEEPING
THE PIT BULL FOR HIS BOSS—AND FAMILY MEMBERS HEARD THE
ATTACK AND RUSHED TO GET THE DOG OFF THE CHILD.
THE
S.O. REPORT SAID THE CHILD'S SHIRT WAS SOAKED IN BLOOD
AND HE RECEIVED A LARGE LACARATION TO THE BACK OF THE
HEAD, HIS LEFT EYE WAS SWOLLEN SHUT AND HIS TOP EYE LID
WAS TORN. THE CHILD HAS SINCE BEEN RELEASED FROM THE
HOSPITAL—AND UPSON ANIMAL CONTROL TOOK CUSTODY OF THE
DOG—AND IT HAS BEEN PUT DOWN.
