T-SPLOST VOTE IN SPALDING CO. NOV. 2019

AT A WORKSHOP MONDAY AFTERNOON—THE SPALDING COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DECIDED TO HOLD A TRANSPORATION SPLOST IN NOVEMBER OF 2019 AND A COMMITTEE WILL BE FORMED TO DECIDE PRIORITIES FOR PROJECTS AND TO PROMOTE THE VOTE.

THE BOARD HEARD THREE SUGGESTIONS FOR THE SITE OF A NEW $4.6 MILLION IN-DOOR AQUATIC CENTER TO BE BUILT WITH SPLOST FUNDS —THE LAKES AT GREEN VALLEY INDUSTRIAL PARK, THE FORMER DUNDEE MILLS SITE ACROSS FROM UGA GRIFFIN AND THE CITY PARK.

IT WOULD BE 8 LANES WITH PROFESSIONAL DIVING BOARDS.

THE BOARD INSTRUCTED COUNTY MANAGER WILLIAM WILSON TO SECURE PROPOSALS AND DRAWINGS FOR THE AQUATIC CENTER BY A RETREAT IN LATE JANUARY 2019.
