ACCORDING TO THOMASTON POLICE CHIEF MIKE RICHARDSON A FEMALE MOTORIST WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ER BY EMS AFTER A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT WITH AN EMPTY LOG TRUCK THAT RAN THE RED LIGHT AT NORTH CHURCH AND WEST MAIN, WEDNESDAY. THE VICTIM, 40 YEAR OLD LISA PATEL OF MACON SAID SHE WAS SOUTH BOUND ON NORTH CHURCH WHEN THE FRONT END OF HER VECHILE COLLIDED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE LOG TRAILER TRAVELING WEST BOUND ON WEST MAIN.
WITNESSES STATED MS. PATEL HAD THE GREEN LIGHT AND THE TRUCK DRIVER, DIONTE TREVON THOMAS, 41, OF COLUMBUS SAID HE WAS NOT AWARE HE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. WITNESSES ALSO STATED THE LOG TRUCK RAN THE RED LIGHT AT WEST MAIN AND NORTH GREEN. THE TRUCK DRIVER, THOMAS WAS CITED FOR HIT AND RUN AND RUNNING THE RED LIGHT BY POST 26 GA. STATE PATROL.
