THURSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT SAVES A HOME

THURSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT ON THE GO THIS PAST WEEKEND—SAVING A HOME IN A KITCHEN FIRE AND LOCATING A FEMALE LOST BOATER ON THE FLINT RIVER WHOSE KAYAK FLIPPED OVER AT YELLOW JACKET SHOALS.

ACCORDING TO UPSON S.O. THURSTON UNITS SAVED A HOME AT 113 REID PLACE ROAD—AFTER A PAN ON THE STOVE CAUGHT FIRE AND CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE RESIDENCE OF JOYCE ROBINSON.

TWO BOATERS FROM MACON TURNED OVER AT YELLOW JACKET SHOALS AND ONE OF THEM—CHRIS RAUCH CONTACED 911 ABOUT HIS MISSING COMPANION ---52 YEAR OLD TERESA LAW WHO WAS LOCATED ON A LOGGING ROAD.

BOTH KAYAKS WERE LOST BUT BOATERS WERE UNHARMED.
