NO TAX MILLAGE HIKE CITY OF THOMASTON?

IT APPEARS THE THOMASTON CITY COUNCIL WILL FOLLOW THE LEAD OF THE UPSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND NOT RAISE TAXES.

CITY MANAGER RUSSELL THOMPSON TOLD ZOOM NEWS THURSDAY HE IS RUNNING A LEGAL AD SETTING THE 2017 MILLAGE RATE AT THE ROLL-BACK RATE OF 3.77 MILLS.

COUNCIL WILL TAKE FORMAL ACTION ON THE MILLAGE RATE NEXT MONTH.


MANAGER THOMPSON SAID THE COUNCIL WILL NOT HAVE A QUORUM —FOR NEXT TUESDAY'S MEETING—SO ITS BEING MOVED TO THURSDAY, AUGUST 3RD AT 7PM.
