UPSON COUNTY’S DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT BILLY MITCHUM, REPORTS NO MAJOR DAMAGE IN THE COUNTY RELATED TO SATURDAY’S STORM.TGA NEWS HAD A CALL ABOUT SOME WIND DAMAGE ON REID PLACE ROAD. SEVERAL COUNTIES WERE UNDER A TORNADO WATCH FOR OVER AN HOUR INCLUDING UPSON,MERIWETHER, SPALDING, TALBOT, FAYETTE, AND COWETA. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR DETECTED A STORM CELL BETWEEN FLINT TECH CAMPUS AND LOGTOWN ROAD THAT HAD TORNADO POTENTIAL BUT NO TOUCH DOWNS REPORTED. BASEBALL-SIZED HAIL CAUSED DAMAGE IN COWETA AND MERIWETHER COUNTIES. THE SALES BARN ON 74 EAST POSTPONED MONDAY’S SALE DUE TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE STORM.
