NEW BIZ FOR THOMASTON

AT  THE  FEBRUARY  MEETING  OF  THE  THOMASTON-UPSON  DEVELOPMENT  AUTHORITY, MONDAY,  AN  INDUCEMENT  LETTER  FOR AN  INDUSTRIAL  REVENUE  BOND  OF  UP  TO   $14 MILLION  WAS  APPROVED  FOR  A  GREEN  ENERGY  COMPANY. LANCASTER ENERGY  PARTNERS OF  WILMINGTON,NORTH  CAROLINA  HAS  PURCHASED  THE  FORMER  THOMASTON  MILLS   CO-GENERATION  PLANT   OFF  EDGEWOOD  AVE.   TO  PRODUCE ELECTRICITY   USING   WOOD WASTE  PRODUCTS.  THE  COMPANY  PLANS TO  BE  UP  AND  RUNNING  BY THE  FALL  WITH  20  NEW  JOBS  CREATED. THE  FIRM   HAS A   CONTRACT  TO  SELL  POWER  TO  UPSON  EMC  AND  OTHER  EMC’S  IN  GEORGIA,  ACCORDING  TO  IDA  CHAIRMAN NEIL HIGHTOWER.
