THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE THOMASTON-UPSON DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, J.R.CHARLES SAYS ITS A GOOD PROBLEM TO HAVE. HE TOLD THE UPSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AT A WORKSHOP, WEDNESDAY, QUAD GRAPHICS HAS PUT A NEW PROPOSAL ON THE TABLE. NEGOTIATIONS HAVE BEEN UNDERWAY FOR QUAD TO GET A $2 MILLION TAX INCENTIVE PACKAGE IN RETURN FOR 74 NEW JOBS IN THE NEXT TWO YEARS, A $4 MILLION INVESTMENT. THE NEW OFFER INCLUDES THE 74 JOBS PLUS AN ADDITIONAL 100 JOBS IN THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS WITH A $25 MILLION DRAW-DOWN FOR FUTURE EXPANSION. IDA ATTORNEY JOEL BENTLEY WHO ATTENDED THE MEETING, TOLD THE COMMISSIONERS, EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO NEGOTIATIONS, BUT THE TEAM JUST WANTED TO UPDATE THE COMMISSIONERS ON THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS. CHARLES SAID TOP QUAD OFFICIALS ARE IN TOWN THIS WEEK AS THE DISCUSSIONS CONTINUE.
