UPSON COUNTY'S LOCAL LEGISLATION HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION BILL IS A VICTIM OF PARTISN POLITICS, ACCORDING TO STATE REPRESENTATIVE BETH CAMP.
THE UPSON COUNTY PROPERTY OWNERS TAX RELIEF BILL CAME BEFORE THE STATE HOUSE THURSDAY AND WAS DEFEATED BY 8 VOTES BUT REPRESENTATIVE CAMP TOLD 101 NEWS FROM THE CAPITAL, SHE PLANS TO PUSH FOR RECONSIDERATION NEXT WEEK. CAMP WHO REPRESENTS UPSON, LAMAR, AND PIKE SAID DEMOCRATS OPPOSE THE REDISTRICTING MAP IN GWINNETT COUNTY AND THEY WERE VOTING AGAINST ALL LOCAL LEGISLATION ON THE FLOOR THURSDAY EVEN SOME DEMOCRAT BILLS.
TRADITIONALLY LOCAL LEGISLATION GETS A FREE PASS IN THE GA. GENERAL ASSEMBLY BUT THIS ACTION SIGNALS THE BAD BREW THAT EXISTS BETWEEN THE TWO PARTIES IN GA.
