Statewide Cell Service Outage

Verizon has reported that their system was down for over three hours Monday due to a power failure at a switch center in Alpharetta. The generator at the center failed also.

The statewide outage affected areas from Atlanta, Columbus, Macon and Savannah, it included Upson, Lamar and Pike counties.

Verizon was able to restore service in parts of the state around 5 pm.
