THE GA. STATE PATROL HAS RELEASED THE NAME OF A 44 YEAR OLD WHITE FEMALE WHO DIED AFTER HER CAR PLUNGED IN A POND ON SOUTH OLD ALABAMA ROAD, IN UPSON COUNTY, EARLY MONDAY.
TROOPER DALE ROBERTS SAID—THE VICTIM—JAMIE WILLIAMSON OZLEY OF HENDRICKS CHURCH ROAD APPARENTLY DROWNED AND WILL NOT BE RECORDED AS A TRAFFIC FATALITY. THE BODY HAS BEEN SENT TO THE STA TE CRIME LAB TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF DEATH, BLOOD WAS DRAWN AND THE GSP IS WORKING AN OPEN INVESTIGATION.
THE GSP REPORT NOTED THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT AS 4;30AM MONDAY, BUT HER BODY WAS NOT DISCOVERED AND RECOVERED UNTIL JUST BEFORE DARK. SHE CALLED HER BROTHER RIGHT AFTER SHE RAN IN THE SWAMPY AREA AND TOLD HIM SHE HAD WRECKED ON ROLAND ROAD AFTER LEAVING A FEMALE FRIEND’S RESIDENCE.
A SEARCH WAS MOBILIZED AFTER MS. OZLEY’S EX-HUSBAND , UPSON COUNTY DEPUTY SGT. RODNEY OZLEY BECAME CONCERNED WHEN SHE COULD NOT BE LOCATED.
