Brian Smith officially announces he is qualifying for the office of Sheriff of Spalding County on Monday March 7th. He is a native of Spalding County where he lives with his wife and daughter. He's had 20+ years experience in law enforcement, and earned 16 certifications and awards. Brian worked for the Spalding County Sheriff's Office for 14 years finishing with his assignment to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. He is currently an Investigator with Coweta County Sheriff's Crime Suppression Unit and serves as the department chief helicopter pilot.
This Sunday residents can meet Brian Smith at Rock Springs church in Milner. At the Rock Springs services he will be introduced by Dr Bennie Tate at their 8:30am and 11:00am services, and will be available afterward for meeting and questions.
Brian Smith says; "I am energetic, I have the experience to lead, and I'm ready for the job of making our sheriff's department one that you'll be proud of. I have a plan to make our Sheriff's dept run more efficiently and also be able to offer better salaries so we can retain our good employees."
