THE ARRAIGNMENT OF UPSON COUNTY COMMISSIONER SANDRA TRICE AND CO-DEFENDANT DEBRA JONES PARKS WAS POSTPONED IN UPSON SUPERIOR COURT, THURSDAY, BECAUSE THE ATTORNEY FOR THE TWO DEFENDANTS HAD A CONFLICT.
ATTORNEY WILLIAM MURRAY OF AMERICUS DID NOT FILE DOCUMENTS WITH THE CLERK OF COURT UNTIL, WEDNESDAY, NOTIFYING THE COURT HE WAS REPRESENTING COMMISSIONER TRICE AND MS. PARKS.
TGA NEWS WAS TOLD THE ARRAIGNMENT BEFORE CHIEF JUDGE CHRIS EDWARDS COULD BE RESCHEDULED FOR SPALDING SUPERIOR COURT THE FIRST OF THE WEEK.
THE NOVEMBER UPSON COUNTY GRAND JURY RETURNED A 39-COUNT INDICTMENT ON COMMISSIONER TRICE AND A 9-COUNT INDICTMENT ON MS. PARKS RELATING TO THE SALE OF PRE-NEED BURIAL CONTRACTS AT TRICE FUNERAL HOME.
COMMISSIONER TRICE HAS REFUSED TO RESIGN AND CHAIRMAN MAURICE RAINES SAYS HE IS SENDING THE CASE TO THE GOVERNOR’S ATTORNEYS FOR ACTION.
