THERE WILL BE NO JURY TRIAL FOR A PIKE COUNTY MURDER SUSPECT HOUSED IN THE UPSON COUNTY JAIL. THE JURY TRIAL FOR TERESA BUROUSAS WAS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN MONDAY IN PIKE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT, BUT HER ATTORNEY, RICKY MORRIS FILED A MOTION FOR A BENCH TRIAL. ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY BEN COKER TOLD TGA NEWS, THE BENCH TRIAL WILL BEGIN OCT. 3 WITH COWETA CIRCUIT JUDGE QUILLIAN BALDWIN JR. PRESIDING. ADA COKER SAYS ALL DEFENDANTS HAVE THE RIGHT TO WAIVE A JURY TRIAL AND ALLOW THE JUDGE TO RETURN THE VERDICT. BUROUSAS IS CHARGED WITH THE SHOOTING DEATH OF HER HUSBAND,JIMMIE BUZZ BUROUSAS JR., 60, WHO WAS SHOT TWICE OUTSIDE THEIR HOME IN CONCORD IN JULY OF 2009.
