OPENING OF T-U SCHOOLS MOVED BACK TO AUGUST 17

DR. LARRY DERICO, SUPERINTENDANT OF THE THOMASTON-UPSON COUNTY SCHOOLS HAS CONFIRMED THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES FOR STUDENTS HAS BEEN MOVED BACK TO AUGUST 17TH. TEACHERS WILL REPORT JULY 28TH.

THE SCHOOL SYSTEM HAD ORIGINALLY SET THE OPENING OF SCHOOL AUGUST 5TH, BUT DR. DERICO SAID THE ADMINISTRATION AND SCHOOL BOARD IN AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION DECIDED TO CHANGE TO AUGUST 17. SEVERAL SCHOOL SYSTEMS IN THE STATE HAVE MOVED BACK THE OPENING OF SCHOOL DUE TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS.
