UPSON CO SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR TORNADO CLEAN-UP

UPSON COUNTY COMMISSION CHAIRMAN NORMAN ALLEN SAID THE COUNTY  IS LOOKING FOR CLEAN-UP VOLUNTEERS TODAY.

REPORT TO THE COUNTY ROADS DEPARTMENT ON 74 EAST AT 7 AM  AND WEAR  STURDY SHOES AND WORK GLOVES.

PROPERTY OWNERS WHO NEED TARPS TO COVER EXPOSED ROOFS AND BUILDINGS  SHOULD  REQUEST THEM IN AN  E-MAIL TO THE  COUNTY.

PIKE COUNTY EMA DIRECTOR JIMMY TOTTEN AND HIS PERSONNEL RESPONDED TO ASSIST MONDAY AND LAMAR COUNTY IS SENDING A CREW TODAY--SHERIFF KILGORE SAID.

GEMA'S SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAMS RESPONDED, A BIG CREW FROM WARNER  ROBINS WAS ON HAND TO ASSIST.

GA. FORESTRY UNIT DISPATCHED A BULLDOZER THAT MANHANDLED A BIG OAK  TREE THAT WAS BLOCKING TRINITY ROAD NEAR THE RESIDENCE OF THE  TOM  JOHNSTON'S.
