UPSON BOC DELAYS REHAB WORK ON HANNAH'S MILL RD BRIDGE

THE  UPSON  COUNTY  BOARD OF  COMMISSIONERS  URGED  EVERYONE  TO FILL OUT  THEIR  CENSUS FORMS  AT LAST WEEK'S MEETING--IT MEANS MORE FEDERAL  DOLLARS FOR  COUNTIES.  FOR MORE INFORMATION  VISIT  CENSUS  DOT  GEORGIA  DOT  GOV. 

THE  BOARD DELAYED A  DECISION  ON  REHAB OF  THE  POTATO CREEK  BRIDGE ON  HANNAH'S MILL ROAD--6  BIDS FROM $625,000  T0  $1.5  MILLION.  THE  LOW  BID EXCEEDED  ESTIMATES.   TABLED FLOOR  COVERING  CONTRACT FOR  THE  UPSON COUNTY HEALTH  DEPARTMENT  AND  APPROVED THE LOW  BID  FOR  RE-ROOFING THE COURTHOUSE ANNEX AND  CHAMBER OF COMMERCE  BUILDING---$51,500.

COUNTY  MANAGER JUSTIN  TINSLEY  SAID  THE NET  CLAIM FOR  THE FIRE  AT  THE  COUNTY  ROADS MAINTANCE  SHOP IS  $242,000. IT ALSO HAD SOME  ROOF  DAMAGE FROM  THE  TORNADO. SPECS ARE  READY  TO  GO OUT TO BID.
