AT MONDAY’S JULY MEETING, AN ATLANTA COMPANY, INMAN SOLAR OUTLINED A PROPOSAL FOR A 4 TO 5 ACRE SOLAR FARM IN COOPERATION WITH CHIEF MANUFACTURING OR AMERICAN PROCESS OFF HIGHWAY 36 EAST.
AFTER AN EXECUTIVE SESSION, THE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OFFERED NINE ACRES OF PROPERTY AT $5000 PER ACRE, AND INMAN OFFICIALS SAID THEY WILL TAKE IT UNDER CONSIDERATION.
IT WOULD BE A $1.5 MILLION PROJECT, NOT A JOBS PRODUCER, BUT WOULD YIELD TAX REVENUE.
GA. POWER SELECTS SUCH PROJECTS, AND A DECISION WOULD PROBABLY BE MADE BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR.
