SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOW

On Friday July 17, Severn Trent Environmental Services (STES) was notified of a sanitary sewer overflow.

Approximately 1,000 gallons of untreated wastewater, classified as a spill, escaped from a manhole located at the station. Personnel from STES responded immediately to the spill and management notified the Georgia Environmental Protection Agency. The spill was contained, all debris has been cleaned up, and lime was applied to the affected area for disinfection. Warning signs have been posted at the site of the spill and will remain there for seven days.
