UPSON CO. COMMISSION CHAIRMAN RUSTY BLACKSTON RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM GOV. NATHAN DEAL WED. AFTERNOON.

THE  CHAIRMAN    TOLD   101  NEWS    HE  HAD  ABOUT  A  5  MINUTE  CONVERSATION  WITH  THE  GOVERNOR,  WHO  ASKED  IF  HE  COULD  BE  OF  ASSISTANCE  TO  THE  COUNTY  IN  ANY  WAY.  HE  ALSO  WANTED  TO  KNOW  HOW   UPSON  COUNTY  WAS  COPING  WITH  THE  LATEST  WEATHER  EVENT.

CHAIRMAN BLACKSTON    SAID    HE  APPRECIATED  THE   GOVERNOR’S  CONCERN.  EARLIER  IN  THE  DAY   THE  CHAIRMAN  DECLARED  A  LOCAL  EMERGENCY WHICH  ACTIVATED  THE  UPSON  EMA’S EMERGENCY  PLAN  AND  CAN  PROVIDE FUNDING  FROM  GA.  EMERGENCY  MANAGEMENT  FOR  DAMAGE  FROM  THE  STORM.
