Upson County Commissioner Results

DSC_6374Incumbent district three county commissioner Rusty Blackston won re-election to the seat in Tuesday’s general election. Blackston polled 62% of the votes in his district, political newcomer Shane Phillips received 38% of the vote.

Blackston stated, “I want to thank the voters and I pledge to continue working for all of Upson County.”

Blackston received 1,206 votes to Phillips’ 748.

Incumbent district four commissioner Frank Spraggins defeated Mark Andrews in a close race, 52% to 48% or 62 votes.

Spraggins polled 764 votes to Andrews 702.

  1. Congrats to Rusty. I hope he is sincere about working for ALL of Upson County. I hope he knows why he got re-elected. People knew what was up with his opponent and his backing. Now if Spraggins can see why his race was so close. Maybe he can see the light and work for ALL of Upson. We need to get all puppets out of office.

  2. Congrats ti Rusty and Frank. I know they will do great and both of them are very hard working. They do alot of Upson. Both help everyone in anyways they can!! again CONGRATS TO FRANK AND RUSTY!!! I am very proud of both of yall

  3. You must be either a close friend, family member, or a fellow board member of the latter. Your statement says "they do a lot OF Upson". True but we need for them to do a lot FOR Upson. Again, Congrats Rusty.
