Incumbent district three county commissioner Rusty Blackston won re-election to the seat in Tuesday’s general election. Blackston polled 62% of the votes in his district, political newcomer Shane Phillips received 38% of the vote.
Blackston stated, “I want to thank the voters and I pledge to continue working for all of Upson County.”
Blackston received 1,206 votes to Phillips’ 748.
Incumbent district four commissioner Frank Spraggins defeated Mark Andrews in a close race, 52% to 48% or 62 votes.
Spraggins polled 764 votes to Andrews 702.
