SOMEONE WAS PLANNING A MERRY HOLIDAY WITH LOTS OF WEED IN THEIR CHRISTMAS STOCKING, BUT THE UPSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT HAD OTHER IDEAS. ACCORDING TO SHERIFF DAN KILGORE TUESDAY AFTERNOON JOHNNY BENNIE WILSON JR. AGE 49 OF MORROW AND THOMASTON WAS ARRESTED WITH 1.4 POUNDS OF MARIJUANA , ECTASY, AND SEVERAL PRESCRIPTION PILLS.
WILSON WAS TRAVELING ON ZORN SREET INTO LINCOLN PARK WHEN HE RAN OFF THE ROAD. A DEPUTY STOPPED HIM AND HIS VEHICLE SMELLED OF MARIJUANA. WILSON FLED ON FOOT BUT DEPUTY RIDGE O'NEILL CAUGHT HIM. WILSON HAD AN OPEN CONTAINER OF BEER IN THE VEHICLE AND HE TRIED TO GIVE DEPUTIES HIS BROTHER'S NAME BUT HE WAS RECOGNIZED.
SHERIFF KILGORE SAID WILSON IS BEING HELD IN THE UPSON COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT BOND--CHARGED WITH A PROBATION VIOLATION, POSSESSION MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE DRUG AND A 9 MILLIMETER PISTOL WAS FOUND IN THE CAR--SO HE WAS BOOKED FOR POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON , NO LICENSE, AND WEAVING IN THE ROADWAY.
