TRAFFIC FATALITY IN UPSON INVOLVING STREET RACING

THOMASTON POLICE CHIEF MIKE RICHARDSON REPORTS A TRAFFIC FATALITY INVOLVING TWO MOTORISTS RACING THRU TOWN NORTHBOUND ON 19 AT SPEEDS OVER 80 MILES PER HOUR, LAST WEEKEND. 

20 YEAR OLD MONTAVIUS PARHAM WAS PRONOUNCED DECEASED AT THE E.R. POLICE MANAGED TO PULL OVER THE OTHER DRIVER NEAR THE WAFFLE HOUSE IN NORTHSIDE, 32 YEAR OLD CORTEZ PUCKETT WHO HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH STREET RACING. 

PARHAM TURNED EAST ONTO COUNTY ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH JUST PAST NORTHSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH. HE WAS TRAPPED IN THE WRECKAGE AND FIRST RESPONDERS FREED HIM WITH THE JAWS OF LIFE BUT HE WAS DOA AT THE E.R.

PARHAM WAS DRIVING A SOUPED-UP DODGE CHARGER HELL CAT AND APPARENTLY LOST CONTROL AND LEFT THE ROADWAY. PUCKETT ALSO CHARGED WITH RECKLESS STUNT DRIVING, AND TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS. POST 26 GA. STATE PATROL IS INVESTIGATING THE ACCIDENT.
