TPD INVESTIGATING BURGLARY OVER $14,000 IN LOSSES

THOMASTON POLICE INVESTIGATING A BURGLARY WITH LOSSES OF OVER $14,400 AT GAME CASTLE IN NORTHSIDE JAN. 3. SECURITY VIDEO SHOWS A BLACK MALE WEARING A GRAY SWEATSHIRT USING A SLEDGE HAMMER TO SMASH THE FRONT GLASS DOOR TO ENTER.

HE WENT TO A COUNTER AND PLACED CELL PHONES IN A BAG AND GATHERED SEVERAL NINTENDO SWITCH LITE CONSOLES FROM A SHELF. POLICE FOUND THE HAMMER IN THE ROADWAY.

THE P.D. GOT A REPORT OF AN ATTEMPTED THEFT OF A FREIGHT DELIVERY AT FAMILY DOLLAR 632 NORTH CENTER ST. AN ELDERLY WHITE MALE AND WHITE FEMALE WERE OBSERVED BY EMPLOYEES AND CONFRONTED IN THE DELIVERY ZONE. THE FEMALE HAD A STORE PACKAGE IN HER HAND AND THE MAN HAD RAISED THE TRUNK LID APPARENTLY TO PLACE THE PACKAGE INSIDE.

WHEN QUESTIONED THE FEMALE SAID SHE THOUGHT IT WAS TRASH, PUT IN DOWN AND THEY DROVE OFF. EMPLOYEES TOLD POLICE THE ELDERLY WHITE MAN APPEARED TO BE THE SAME PERSON WHO BACKED INTO THE DELIVERY ZONE 3 MONTHS AGO AND TRIED TO STEAL PACKAGES.

THE COUPLE COULD BE IN THE PAINTING BUSINESS BASED ON ITEMS OBSERVED IN THEIR BLACK VEHICLE.
