KELLEY OF THOMASTON ENTERED THE PLEA BEFORE JUDGE MACK CRAWFORD IN UPSON SUPERIOR COURT, FRIDAY , AND KELLEY WAS SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS, 10 YEARS TO SERVE IN PRISON, 10 YEARS ON PROBATION AND A FINE OF $20,000. THE CASE INVOLVED THREE COUNTS OF THE SALE OF METH.
AS PART OF THE PLEA BARGAIN, KELLEY AGREES TO SURRENDER $44,000 IN ASSETS , INCLUDING $34,000 IN CASH FOUND IN A BANK SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX, A PICK-UP TRUCK AND A JEEP AND A PISTOL.
KELLEY ALSO FACES DRUG CHARGES IN MERIWETHER COUNTY AFTER A DRUG BUST AT A HOUSE IN WOODBURY.
UPSON COUNTY SHERIFF DAN KILGORE COMMENDED SGT. HEATH EPPINGER AND OTHER DEPUTIES IN HIS DEPARTMENT, THE TAYLOR COUNTY AND MERIWETHER COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENTS, AND THE THOMASTON POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR COOPERATION IN THE CASE.
KELLEY WAS INDICTED ON DRUG CHARGES, MONDAY, BY THE MARCH UPSON COUNTY GRAND JURY.
