THE GA. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION RELEASED THE GRADUATION RATE FOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR, TUESDAY AND UPSON-LEE IMPROVED TO 71% FROM 65%. IT WAS ABOVE THE STATE AVERAGE OF 69.72% . UL PRINCIPAL TRACY CALDWELL CREDITED THE HARD WORK OF TEACHERS FOR THE IMPROVED DATA.
PIKE COUNTY HAD THE HIGHEST GRADUATION RATE IN THE AREA, 86.79%, SPALDING COUNTY UPPED ITS GRADUATION RATE BY 5% TO 63.88—SPALDING HIGH 77.03%, GRIFFIN HIGH 62.89%
