CHIEF MAGISTRATE WINS HIGH COURT RULING -- IS OWED $155,000 BY PIKE CO.

ACCORDING  TO  THE  ATLANTA  LEGAL  PUBLICATION   THE  DAILY  REPORT,  PIKE  COUNTY  CHIEF  MAGISTRATE  MARCIA-CALLAWAY-INGRAM  WON  HER  CASE  AGAINEST  THE  PIKE COUNTY  COMMISSION.

THE  GA.  SUPREME  COURT  RULED  UNANIMOUSLY,MONDAY,  THAT  STATE  LAW  AND  THE  STATE  CONSTITUTION  BAR  A  COUNTY  COMMISSION  FROM  REDUCING  A  MAGISTRATE’S  SALARY  IN  THE  MIDDLE  OF  HER  TERM.

THE   SALARY  OF  JUDGE  CALLAWAY-INGRAM  WAS  REDUCED  FROM  $63,000  TO  $49,000  BY  THE  PIKE  COUNTY  COMMISSION  DUE  TO  BUDGET  ISSUES.
