SOUTH, A FORMER COUNTY COMMISSIONER, TOLD TGA NEWS MONDAY AFTERNOON HE PLANS TO QUALIFY THIS WEEK. SIX YEARS AGO SOUTH WON THE DISTRICT THREE SEAT ON THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, BUT RESIGNED AFTER TWO YEARS, AS MANDATED BY LAW, TO RUN FOR COMMISSION CHAIRMAN.
INCUMBENT MAURICE RAINES SAYS HE WILL SEEK ANOTHER FOUR YEAR TERM AND HE WAS UPBEAT ABOUT THE CONDITION OF COUNTY GOVERNMENT IN REMARKS TO THOMASTON KIWANIS LAST WEEK.
VOTERS HAVE UNTIL JULY 2ND TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN THE JULY 31ST PRIMARY. CANDIDATES CAN QUALIFY WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY OF THIS WEEK.
