A THOMASTON-UPSON SYSTEM SCHOOL BUS WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT SOUTH CHURCH AND LEE INTERSECTION. NO STUDENTS HAD INJURIES REQUIRING MEDICAL TREATMENT, BUT THE FEMALE DRIVER OF A SMALL KIA AUTO WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE E.R. BY UPSON EMS. ACCORDING TO GSP TROOPER MITCHELL DAY THE SCHOOL BUS DRIVER JOHN DUNCAN WAS CHARGED WITH FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE AFTER THE BUS REAR-ENDED THE KIA. THE BUS HAD SOME MODERATE FRONT FENDER DAMAGE. SCHOOL SYSTEM OFFICIALS SAID ANOTHER SCHOOL BUS WAS DISPATCHED TO TRANSPORT THE STUDENTS TO THEIR HOMES.
