POST 26 GA. STATE PATROL IN THOMASTON HAS COMPLETED ITS INVESTIGATION OF A FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON ON THOMPSON ROAD. TROOPER MITCHELL DAY TOLD TGA NEWS, TOMMY DEAN, 63 OF HANNAH’S MILL ROAD WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE, FOLLOWING THE ONE VEHICLE MISHAP, NEAR THE WALLER ROAD INTERSECTION. FRIENDS HAVE SAID THEY BELIEVE HE HAD A HEART ATTACK AND WRECKED. TROOPER DAY SAID DEAN’S 1994 CHEVROLET C-1500 PICK-UP LEFT THE ROAD, HIT A POLE AND OVERTURNED ON ITS SIDE IN A PRIVATE DRIVE. DEAN WAS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT , THE TRUCK HAD NO AIR BAGS, AND THE BODY HAD TO BE FREED WITH THE JAWS OF LIFE CUTTING TOOL BY EMERGENCY RESPONDERS.
