THE CITY OF THOMASTON ZONING COMMISSIONER VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO DENY RECOMMENDATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR A NEW FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN AT 201 NORTH CHURCH STREET MONDAY --THE ONE-TIME LOCATION OF THOMASTON FEDERAL AND MOST RECENTLY A HOSPICE. GEORGINNA LOCKETT WITH DIVINE PRESERVATION MADE THE REQUEST, A LICENSED EMBALMER WHO TOLD THE ZONING BOARD SHE WAS INTRODUCED INTO THE FUNERAL HOME BUSINESS BY HER GRANDFATHER, A FUNERAL HOME OWNER.
RICHARD HOLLSTROM MADE THE MOTION TO DENY, VICE-CHAIR SANDY KERSEY THE SECOND AND CHAIR STEVE SHORT, ROBERT CHATMAN AND TROY WOODARD ALL VOTED FOR THE MOTION.
