ON A RECRUITING TRIP TO THE AREA, GEORGIA HEAD FOOTBALL COACH KIRBY SMART WAS REPORTEDLY SPOTTED AT A THOMASTON RESTAURANT, FRIDAY NIGHT, BUT SATURDAY'S CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION WAS MARRED BY A TRAGIC ACCIDENT EARLY SUNDAY IN ATHENS THAT KILLED ONE OF UGA'S PROMISING OFFENSIVE LINEMAN, DEVIN WILLOCK AND A MEMBER OF THE RECRUTING STAFF, CHANDLER LECROY.

ACCORDING TO ATHENS POLICE, THE WRECK HAPPENED AROUND 3AM SUNDAY ON BARNETT SHOALS ROAD, WHEN THE SUV MS. LECROY, 24, WAS DRIVING , LEFT THE ROADWAY AND HIT A UTILITY POLE AND SOME TREES. WILLOCK, AGE 20 WAS DECEASED AT THE SCENE AND MS. LECROY DIED AT THE E.R.
TWO OTHER PASSENGERS WERE INJURED, O-LINEMAN WARREN MCCLENDON WHO HAD JUST ANNOUNCED FOR THE NFL DRAFT AND ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE RECRUTING STAFF, VICTORIA BOWLES, 26. POLICE SAID SHE HAD SERIOUS INJURIES , BUT MCCLENDON WAS DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL SUNDAY AFTER TREATMENT FOR A LACARATION TO THE FOREHEAD.
WILLOCK WAS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE FROM NEW JERSEY, 6-7, 335-POUNDS, WHO STARTED TWO GAMES FOR THE BULLDOGS THIS PAST SEASON.
