WITH COMMUNITY AMBULANCE BOWING OUT, JOEY THIEL, A RETIRED 20 YEAR EMT URGED THE UPSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO ESTABLISH A COUNTY-OPERATED EMS SYSTEM, AT TUESDAY'S MEETING.
HE PRESENTED THREE OPTIONS AND TOLD THE BOARD IF THEY ALLOW ANOTHER PRIVATE PROVIDER TO ASSUME THE LICENSE THE COUNTY WILL BE IN THE SAME BOAT IT IS NOW, OUTLINING THE NUMBER OF PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED WITH COMMUNITY AMBULANCE.
COUNTY MANAGER JASON TINSLEY EXPLAINED THE PROCESS BUT SAID A COUNTY OPERATED EMS IS DOUBTFUL BECAUSE OF THE FEB. 13TH DEADLINE.
