INDICTMENTS RETURNED IN THE DEATH OF SUE GRUBBS

ACCORDING TO GRIFFIN JUDICIAL CIRCUIT DISTRICT ATTORNEY BEN COKER—A MOTORIST HAS BEEN INDICTED FOR THE DEATH OF WELL-KNOWN THOMASTONIAN SUE GRUBBS BACK IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR. MS. GRUBBS WAS STRUCK AND KILLED WHILE STANDING AT HER MAILBOX ON THE YATESVILLE ROAD AND A TROUP COUNTY MAN, CHRISTOPHER DARYL TOLEN FACES CHARGES—TOLEN CURRENTLY IN JAIL IN JONES COUNTY FOR BURGLARY.

THE D.A. TOLD 101 NEWS --THIS WEEK--THE UPSON COUNTY GRAND JURY RETURNED INDICTMENTS AGAINST TOLEN FOR HOMOCIDE BY VEHICLE—FIRST DEGREE, FAILURE TO MAINTAIN LANE, DUI—DRUGS AND DRIVING WHILE DISQUALIFIED. TOLEN ALLEGEDLY WAS ON METH AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT—COKER SAID.

THE GA. STATE PATROL ACCIDENT INVESTIGATIONS TEAM COMPLETED ITS REPORT AND THE GBI CRIME LAB TURNED OVER TOXOCOLOGY REPORTS TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE AND THAT EVIDENCE WAS PRESENTED TO THE GRAND JURY.
