I-75 TRUCK LANES CONSTRUCTION MOVED UP

GA. DOT HAS ANNOUNCED ITS MOVING-UP THE COMPLETION DATE OF THE TRUCK LANE PROJECT ON 1-75 FROM THE 1-475/I-75 INTERCHANGE NEAR MACON TO THE MCDONOUGH AREA. CONSTRUCTION IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN IN 2023 WITH THE COMPLETION DATE 2028 –TWO YEARS EARLIER THAN PLANNED.

THE NEW 40 MILES OF TRUCK LANES WILL BE NON-TOLLED AND SPAN ACROSS 5 COUNTIES—SPALDING, HENRY, BUTTS, LAMAR, AND MONROE. THE DOT SAID ACCELERATING THIS PROJECT ACCOMIDATES GROWTH IN TRUCK TRAFFIC AND SUPPORTS THE FUTURE PORT OF SAVANNAH EXPANSION.
