HOMECOMING VANDALISM OUT OF HAND-POLICE SAY

THOMASTON POLICE CHIEF MIKE RICHARDSON AND SHERIFF DAN KILGORE TOLD 101 NEWS—HOMECOMING WEEK PRANKS ARE OUT OF HAND. MONDAY NIGHT , SOMEONE SHOT OUT A WINDOW ON MAIN STREET WITH A PAINT BALL GUN IN THE CITY OF THOMASTON AND SEVERAL CARS PARKED AT UPSON LEE HIGH WERE VANDALIZED WITH PAINT.

CHIEF RICHARDSON IS CALLING ON PARENTS TO OBSERVE THEIR STUDENTS CLOSELY THIS WEEK AND HE SAID POLICE WILL VIEW BUSINESSES VIDEO TO SEE WHO IS PURCHASING PAINT BALL GUN SUPPLIES. THE CHIEF ADDED THAT HOMECOMING WEEK VANDALISM HAS INCREASED OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS FROM ROLLING YARDS WITH TOILET PAPER TO USE OF PAINT GUNS AND IT HAS TO STOP. VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED—HE SAID.




SHERIFF KILGORE SAID HE'S DISTURBED 5 TO 6 VEHICLES AT THE HIGH SCHOOL HAD VULGAR WRITINGS AND DRAWINGS PAINTED ON THEM. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS BEHAVIOR—HE TOLD US— AND THE SHERIFF INDICATED HIS DEPUTIES ARE INVESTIGATING.
