LAKE THOMASTON PARK PROJECT AND PARK STREET PLAYGROUND PROJECT $45,000 ABOVE ESTIMATES.

AT   TUESDAY’S  MEETING—THOMASTON  CITY  MANAGER  PATRICK  COMISKEY  SAID  THE  LOW  BID  FROM TOMMY  GIBSON  BUILDERS  OF  WARNER  ROBINS  WAS   $930,000.  HE  SAID  THE  RISING  COST  OF  MATERIALS  APPARENTLY  CAUSED  THE  INCREASE.

THE  WORK  INCLUDES  A  PAVILION,  BOAT  HOUSE  AND  RESTROOMS  AT  LAKE  THOMASTON  AND  $200,000  FOR  A  PAVILION  AND  RESTROOMS  AT  PARK  STREET.

  1. What a suprise....... Bet they have'nt even worked out a budget for the annual cost of up keep, security( the few cops on duty can't be expected to do it). There's insurance,staffing.etc....... But I guess it's more important to have a park than more police on the streets. Thomaston is in the top 10% of the most dangerous cities in Ga. They want industry and bussiness' to move here ??? I'm sure they would say ummmm..... most dangerous city-- Bottom of the school ranking--- BUT LOOK!!!!!! they sure have a purty park .Sure we'll locate our bussiness there......
