UPSON COUNTY COMMISSION CHAIRMAN RUSTY BLACKSTON TOLD TGA NEWS LATE FRIDAY, THE COUNTY WILL COMPLY WITH AN ORDER FROM JUDGE FLETCHER SAMS TO PROVIDE THE CITY OF THOMASTON WITH REQUESTED FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS BY 5PM MONDAY.
DURING A HEARING THURSDAY, ON A MOTION OF CONTEMPT FILED BY THE CITY OF THOMASTON AGAINEST LAST YEAR’S BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE FLETCHER SAMS ASKED SEVERAL QUESTIONS, THEN TOLD THE COUNTY TO GET THOSE DOCUMENTS TO CITY HALL. AT ISSUE, THE 2008 END-OF- YEAR BUDGET REPORT.
OVER A YEAR AGO, CITY HALL FILED AN OPEN RECORDS REQUEST WITH THE COUNTY FOR FINANCIAL DATA FROM 1999 TO 2011, RELATED TO THE LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX REVENUE SPLIT.
